Complete Exam
Nothing is more important
for the well-being of your pet than the annual (semi-annual for senior
pets) wellness examination. This
visit gives our doctors an opportunity to discuss many topics critical
to keeping your pet active and pain free for as long as possible.
Darien Animal Clinic believes that this time is so important to the long
term health of your pet we set aside an entire 30 minutes with a doctor.
This allows our doctors to ensure that every question and concern is
covered, as well as getting excellent value for your dollar.
Individual Wellness
Every
pet is different, that is why the doctors will create an individual
vaccination plan for each pet to ensure that your pet is protected from
certain viruses and illnesses.
At the annual wellness examination, we will work with you to
develop a wellness plan to keep your pet healthy, active and comfortable
for as long as possible. If the focus of your visit is an illness or
injury, we will thoroughly explain all diagnostics and treatments
recommended. Pain control is always addressed and included in your pet's
treatment plan.

Dentistry
Our
advanced dental procedures are performed with all the same standards as
our surgical procedures.
Dental procedures are performed by ultrasonic scaling, polishing, and
periodontal probing where teeth are evaluated for fractures,
discoloration, and gum recession.
Digital dental radiographs are then taken to evaluate the teeth
below the gum line. Digital
dental radiography is faster, has higher image quality, and there is
less radiation exposure to your pet.
With digital dental radiography we can take a full mouth of
radiographs in less than 10 minutes, something that takes up to 45
minutes without digital radiography which means your pet is under
anesthesia for a shorter period of time.
If extractions are needed, the gingival is sutured closed at
the extracted site to speed healing and prevent infection.
At the time of discharge, we train you on preventative care you
may provide at home.
Patient Comfort
Patient comfort is of the utmost importance to the staff of Darien
Animal Clinic that is why we take every extra precaution to ensure that
our patients are comfortable.
From heated water blankets during and after surgery, thermal
blankets, plush towels and even socks because much of an animal’s body
heat is lost from it paws. A
recovery technician ensures your pet is comfortable after the procedure
